Instagram back up after global outage affecting thousands of users



After a technical issue disrupted services for thousands of users, the social media platform Instagram, owned by META Platform Inc, announced that it was back up and running for most users on Sunday. The company swiftly resolved the problem, ensuring access to the platform for those affected.


"Earlier today, some users were unable to access Instagram due to a technical issue," stated a Meta representative. We settled the issue as fast as workable for every individual who was influenced." The specific number of clients impacted by the disturbance was not uncovered by the organization.


Downdetector.com, a website that tracks outages, reported over 100,000 incidents in the United States, 24,000 in Canada, and more than 56,000 in Britain. Over 180,000 users reported issues accessing Instagram at the height of the outage.However, as of 8:30 pm EST, the number of outages decreased to just over 7,000 reports.


Downdetector collects status reports from various sources, including users, to track and monitor service disruptions.


It is noteworthy that Instagram experienced intermittent service interruptions starting around 5:45 pm EST (21:45 GMT) on Sunday, as reported by Downdetector.com. Fortunately, the platform's technical team swiftly resolved the issue, restoring access to Instagram for the majority of users affected.
